ARA International Manager David Tanner said: "This has

been a very positive start to the season. In particular, we have shown good depth across the whole team with some superb performances at the top end. Pride of place must go to the men's pair who were excellent on both days.

Despite their loss today, the men's four continue to show that they are world class.  There was an impressive win, too, for Frances Houghton and a much improved performance from the women's double. The wins from the lightweight women show that we are on track to produce world class performances".

Duisberg Regatta - Sunday Results

Frances Houghton completed an even-paced win in the women's single scull in the absence of reigning Olympic champion Ekaterina Karsten of Belarus who was racing today in a quad.

In the face of a French threat at 1000m, Houghton maintained her control. "I am really pleased with the weekend", said Houghton. "Today's scull was better than yesterday particularly in the first 1000m. I feel I've got a really strong basic rhythm and now I need to work on being more in the race in the first half".
